Jessica is the Clinical Nurse Leader/ Provincial Coordinator of the Nova Scotia Eating Disorder Provincial Service. Jessica Graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Psychiatric Nursing at Brandon University.
Jessica is certified as an Eating Disorder Specialist with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and is also a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse through the Canadian Nursing Association. Jessica has been practicing in the field of eating disorders for 10 years and is passionate about evidence based practice and capacity building.
Jessica is certified in Family Based Treatment which is the gold standard treatment for child and adolescent eating disorders. Jessica also has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy- Ten for eating disorders. In the past, Jessica has worked at the IWK Health Centre at the Garron Centre (acute inpatient psychiatry), Emergency Mental Health Assessment Service and in the Eating Disorder Specific Care Clinic. Jessica also works as a clinical instructor for Dalhousie University.
Jessica is interested in pursing research in the field of eating disorders with a focus on families and early intervention.
